2010, October 30: The Final of
the International Composition Contest 'Yin & Yang"

 

 

 

On October 30, 2010 at the Forum Music in Taipei, the final of the 2010 Sizhu Music Composition Contest was held. The selected 6 compositions from international applications and 5 compositions from Taiwanese applications were premiered before a live audience and before an authoritative jury by the musicians of the Chai Found Music Workshop (CFMW).

The jury consists of:

  1. Professor Hwang-Long Pan
  2. Professor Tsung Hsien Yang, the College of Music, Taipei National University of the Arts
  3. Associate Professor, Ya-Min Hu, the Department of Music, Chinese Culture University
  4. Associate Professor, Tzyy-Sheng Lee

CFMW is very pleased with the jury's decision confirming the winners of YIN & YANG the 2010 Sizhu Music Composition Contest.

2010, September 20: The Result of
the International Composition Contest 'Yin & Yang"

 

 

The Chai Found Music Workshop is pleased to announce the result of the first round for the 2010 Sizhu Music Composition Contest. After the first screening the Jury panel, the following six compositions, in alphabetical order, have been selected out and will be re-analyzed for the final decision:

Lan Tung (Canada) / ‘Beijing Opera Rock’
Luiz Henrique Yudo (Brazil) / ‘Yin-Yang’

Michalis Keffalas (Greece) / ‘Three Taiwanese Echoes’

The CFMW will present a concert of the selected 6 compositions from international applications and 5 compositions from Taiwanese applications on October 30, 2010 at the Forum Music in Taipei. Simultaneously, the jury will decide the rank of the prize-winners in the end of the concert and the audience will be voting on the audience prize. The final result will be published on the CFMW's website on the next working day.

2009, July 15: Chai Found Music Workshop
launches International Composition Contest 'Wu Xing"

 
 
 
 

Chai Found Music Workshop is holding a composition contest for Sizhu instrumentation for composers from Taiwan and composers from the countries of the European Union.

The theme of this cross-cultural musical production is Wu Xing, the five elements / phases in traditional Chinese philosophy.

The concert of Wu Xing will take place on November 28, 2009 at Forum Music in Taipei and will present the selected compositions from 4 Taiwanese and 4 European composers. The music will be recorded and published as a CD.

The deadline for handing in the compositions is October 1st, 2009

  2009, June 11: Panel Discussion about "The Journey of the Monkey King"  
             
     
             
  By invitation of the National Culture and Arts Foundation Taiwan Chai Found Music Workshop presented its production "The Journey of the Monkey King" and the concept of "Eastern Instrumental Theater" to a board of scholars and professors from different fields of performing arts from Taiwan.     
             
   
 

2009, May 17: American and Canadian Culture presenters in Taiwan

 
     
 

Chai Found Music Workshop presented its productions "Eastern legends " and "The Journey of the Monkey King" to 5 American and Canadian Culture presenters, which had been invited by the Taiwanese government.
